Description

The Mysterium Magnum is one of Jakob Böhme’s most important works. It provides esoteric commentary on the first book of Genesis. In it Böhme develops all the themes making up part of his vision of the world, including the birth of God, the creation of angels, the fall of Lucifer, the history of the androgynous man, his fall into the terrestrial world and the importance of the coming of a new Adam, Christ. In its introduction, this edition offers two new Nicolas Berdiaeff studies on the fundamental themes of Böhme’s theosophy. The first is dedicated to the Ungrund (the ground without a ground which is the origin of all creation), and the second to Sophia and the androgynous being.
