In his opinion, the Book of the dead “was not merely a guide for the soul in its journey beyond the tomb, a manual of sorts on death, but it also aims to provide the key to essential problems affecting the world of gods and men”. Sotirios Mayassis is an architect and archaeologist. He is the founder of the National Archaeological Museum of Greece.
