Doctor Raymond Moody was one of the first to suggest the possibility of a life after death, having gathered numerous testimonies from people who had had near-death experiences. Neurosurgeon Eben Alexander had such an experience himself, related in his book "Proof of Heaven". In the company of Moody, he now returns to his account and extends it. The two men develop the great themes of life: Why are we here? Is there life after death? Does consciousness depend on our brain or can it exist independently of its physical supports, and outlive them? Throughout their conversations, the two scientists insist that science and spirituality must be allowed to coexist. Their respective experiences have convinced them that individual consciousness is connected at a cosmic level with a field of collective consciousness which lies beyond it. What place does the divine have in our life? In asking ourselves this question, we transform our vision of ourself and give new meaning to life, along with a new rôle. "All that we have to do", Eben Alexander tells us, "is to express the Creator's love, by understanding our eternal nature and seeing the marvellous eternal spirit in each one of us." These conversations are followed by a long afterword by Jean Staune, scientific philosopher, who highlights what Eben Alexander's testimony has to offer in terms of our understanding both of near-death experiences and of the soul. The book is complemented with a DVD containing 120min of conversations between Raymond Moody and Eben Alexander (French subtitles available)
