A reproduction of the Hydrangea flower on these refined earrings
The hydrangea is a shrub family to which 75 flowering plant species belong. It originates from Southern and Oriental Asia as well as from North and South America. The majority of the species are shrubs with a height of 1 to 3 metres high, while others are small trees, and others are vines. Ama-cha, which means sweet tea, is a herbal tea made from hydrangea serrata. It is poured onto a statue of Buddha during a particular ceremony and offered to those attending the ceremony, on the 8th of April, the supposed birthdate of the Buddha.
