Human minds have dizzying mystery. The mystery is the abyss which unceasingly attracts our uneasy curiosity towards its tremendous depths. The greatest mystery of the infinite is the existence of the only One for whom everything is without mystery. By comprehending the infinite, which is essentially incomprehensible, it becomes itself the infinite mystery and eternally unfathomable; that is to say that to all appearances it is that supreme absurdity which Tertullian believed in. We will therefore demonstrate the true religion with such characters that no one, believer or otherwise, can be suspicious of it; it will be the absolute in matter of religion. We will establish philosophically the immutable characters of this truth, which in matter of science is reality; in matter of judgement, reason; in matter of morality, justice. Finally, we will elucidate the laws of nature, maintained in equilibrium, and show how vain are the fantasies of our imagination faced with the fertile realities of movement and life. We will urge the great poets of the future to recreate the Divine Comedy, not according to the dreams of man, but following the mathematics of God.
