There is an innumerable quantity of hymns and prayers, be they private or public, which have reached us from Ancient Egypt. This work could therefore offer no more than analogy, but the author intends to reveal the multiple and most original expressions of the religious souls of the Ancient Egyptians. In this work the reader will therefore find quite a broad range of texts: prayers, that are occasionally short, embodying an originality which breaks with traditional norms or expansive compositions and the expression of much more complex theology. As is the custom in the collection, the work is accompanied by an introduction of approximately fifty pages, the complete translations of selected texts and a brief commentary on them.
