This album is devoted to the Lauds of Saint Ursula, by Hildegard von Bingen. Hildegard von Bingen, who was drawn to Saint Ursula, wrote these psalms and antiphons to the glory of the eleven thousand and one virgin martyrs. This manuscript, the famous Dendermonde Codex, contains these texts together with some musical indications, which enabled Marcel Pérès to revive the monodic lines.
