The journey of Averroes the Muslim and Maimonides the Jew, in search of the book which would reveal the truths of the world. Along this quest, they meet and exchange ideas. However, their quest is hampered by a mysterious brotherhood... But this quest will be a difficult one, as a mysterious brotherhood does not wish for them to find discover the precious work, and will do all they can to prevent them from doing so.
In 12th Century Cordoba, before being tortured and hanged, a Jewish artisan has a final opportunity to reveal to his nephew how to obtain the book which is “most important ever to be written by man”. Thrust into this quest through Europe and Morocco, Maimonides meets a young Muslim, Averroes, who is trained in the same discipline. Both of these individuals - who are to become eminent intellectuals - are pursued by a mysterious group determined to do anything within their power to prevent them from establishing a Brotherhood of enlightened minds. The majority of the characters in this novel actually existed. The majority of the political and personal events with that they face took place. Everything leads us to believe that at this crucial moment in the history of the world, the greatest of Jewish thinkers and Muslim philosophers enjoyed the exact kind of dialogue that we see here.
