This issue of the review Spirituality and Society is entirely dedicated to the Rose-Cross, and particularly to the Ancient and Mystic Order of the Rose-Cross, which currently sustains Rosicrucian tradition. With its numerous illustrations and archive documents, it reveals its history, teachings and philosophy. The Rose-Cross has throughout history sought to alert society of the dangers it was running by distancing itself from the spiritual laws governing the universe: this special issue retraces the history of the 17th Century Rosicrucian Manifestos and offers large extracts of the “Positio Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis”, published in 2001 considered by historians of esotericism to be the fourth Rosicrucian Manifesto, as well as a variety of recent texts on social subjects such as ecology or human rights. The current Grand Master of the French-speaking jurisdiction also offers an opinion on the current state of the world, and on the spirituality and humanism of the Rose Cross. The Ancient and Mystic Order of the Rose-Cross today offers both oral and written teachings, extracts of which you can discover. Two researchers from the International Rose-Cross University will finally share their point of view on their respective disciplines.
