Jean-Marie Muller emphasis the urgency to break with the ideology of necessary and legitimate violence which all too often structures the culture of our society. He invites us to construct a philosophy of non-violence. First of all, this non-violent action aims to convince an adversary by means of persuasion. Secondly, it seeks to compel him through the implementation of means of action varying from simple demonstrations to civil disobedience. Non-violence then becomes the ultimate instrument of peace.
