The Zohar is among the major works of the Kabbalah. It is an esoteric and mystic exegesis of the Torah or Pentateuch. This volume offers commentary on the biblical book of Ruth. It is one of the jewels of Kabbalist literature in which the primary notions and the most important motifs of the Zohar are brought together. Without being reduced to an abstraction, the figure of Ruth is elevated to the level of essential signifier: she represents both the human soul on its earthly and eschatological voyage as well as the feminine dimension of the divine.
