Description

The scarab was a very popular amulet in ancient Egypt. The holy dung beetle rolls the dung ball before it just as the Sun god Râ “rolls” along the firmament every day. The scarab’s wings depict the Sun god and Osiris. The Moon shines above them. On the base, Osiris is depicted between his sister Nephthys and his wife Isis.
